Welcome to the AsiaPacific Access Weblog

We will update this on a regular basis to help you stay up to date with our most recent events, activities, and adventures in Asia. It has been a busy New Year for us here in Denver. We have gotten off to a great start and we are anticipating another great year in the life of AsiaPacific Access. Below is a quick update:
- Ralph returned from China shortly after the January 1st, and has been running around since he landed. If you haven't visited his office lately, you should make a point of stopping by to see his new beautifully carved wooden Buddha. Many have already rubbed the happy Buddha's belly for good luck in 2006. Here he is... Doesn't he look a little like Ralph?!?
- Rosalia received fantastic news last week that her H1-B Visa had been approved. She is here to stay! See the Buddha is good luck!
- Jason and I shared some our experiences in China with a group of international business people in Colorado Springs last week. "The Common Business Challenges in China" presentation was a big hit, and judging by the number of attendees at Wednesday morning session, China is top of mind among business people in the Springs. We are planning several more similar presentations to groups here in Denver, Fort Collins as well as in Lincoln, Nebraska during '06.
- The new year has also brought several new members to the AsiaPacific Access team here in Denver. Jason Latimer a Senior in the International Operations Management program in CU-Boulder, and Mike Dietz a Senior International Business student at DU have officially joined us to conduct market and industry research. Both have spent significant time abroad and already uncovered several exciting opportunities for AsiaPacific Access. Given our progress so, I believe there will be several more key people joining our growing team in Denver and in China.
- Ralph, Jason, and I attended the International Business Day at the National Western Stock Show last evening. What an experience! Each of us were very impressed by the size and seemingly endless array of products and services available the 100th anniversary of the Stock Show. Admittedly, I was a little out of my element; to no one's surprise however, the Cornhusker felt right at home.
- About half the team met at Chopsticks, arguably the best and most authentic Chinese restaurant in Denver, last weekend for our Holiday, Chinese New Year, Rosalia's congratulations, and Ralph's birthday celebration. I've included a picture from this event. If you haven't eaten at Chopsticks already... We highly recommend it!
